Media Days Roundup

Here are some links to audio and video of OU’s appearance at the Big 12 Media Days today:
The Tulsa World has some good quotes from Stoops on a few key topics:
  • Death of Austin Box: “Asked how he kept it together then, OU coach Bob Stoops said: ‘I don't know how I did, to be honest with you. There's not words to truly describe how you hurt and how the players hurt. Austin was a great, great spirit in the locker room, a friend to everybody, one of those special characters that everybody loved to see. You miss that. It doesn't go away.’”
  • Replacing DeMarco Murray: “Of the running backs who remain, Stoops said: ‘I don't see any of those guys having the physical presence and maturity to play 40 to 50 snaps like DeMarco could. So we'll divide it up.’”
  • The Longhorn Network: “To me, the life blood of every program is recruiting. We either all recruit by the same rules or we don't. I have total trust in the administrations and the leadership of this league and the NCAA that we'll all play under the same rules. If not, let's change the rules so we all play the same way.”
