OU Receives Commitment from DE/TE Charles Tapper

OU "picked up a verbal commitment from Charles Tapper, a defensive end/tight end from Baltimore's City College High School, SoonerScoop.com reported Saturday," according to the Tulsa World.

"Ranked as the nation's No. 10 tight end by Scout and the No. 25 defensive end by Rivals, Tapper selected the Sooners after reportedly receiving scholarship offers from Miami, Penn State and West Virginia among others.

"Tapper is listed at either 6-3 or 6-4 and anywhere between 227 and 245 pounds. He also plays basketball on the Nike Baltimore Elite AAU basketball team."

Tapper is rated by Scout as a 4-star tight end and by Rivals as a 3-star defensive end. He's expected to play on defense and was recruited by OU defensive ends coach Bobby Jack Wright.
