OU No. 1 in Football Writers’ Preseason Poll

The Sooners are ranked as the preseason No. 1 team in the Football Writers Association of America's (FWAA) annual preseason poll.

OU received seven first-place votes while Alabama got five. LSU, Stanford and South Carolina each received one first-place vote.

The FWAA awards the Grantland Rice Trophy every year to the nation’s top college football team.
