Offensive lineman (right tackle) Jarvis Jones is still “recovering from a torn patellar tendon,” the Tulsa World reports. Although he won’t be back for the Florida State game next week, Jones is making good progress according to Head Coach Bob Stoops.
"He had a helmet on yesterday and shoulder pads," he said, " working out individually, going through drills, and so he's making good progress. I don't expect him back next week, though."
Jones, a projected starter before his injury, was replaced by Daryl Williams for the Tulsa game. Lane Johnson was set to rotate with Williams during the game, but saw extensive playing time after Williams sprained his ankle and did well.
Williams is supposed to be ready for the Florida State game, but it’s a reminder that the Sooners will benefit depth-wise once Jones returns.
