OU “didn’t lose the No. 1 ranking in The Associated Press poll as much as LSU gained it, and Sooners coach Bob Stoops can live with that,” the Kansas City Star reports.
“Hey, I agree with LSU,” Stoops said. “The schedule they’ve played so far, I’m not surprised.”
Stoops said he “thought the separation might have been wider.” LSU received 14 first-place votes in last week’s poll but this week jumped up to 42. OU went from 37 votes last week down to 12.
OU remains the top team in the coaches’ poll.
