Senior kicker Jimmy Stevens “returned to practice on Monday,” according to The Oklahoman. He was reportedly “testing his right leg” after suffering from a strained right quadriceps muscle earlier in the season. Still no word on when he’ll be fully healed.
Colleen Stevens, Jimmy’s mother, spoke to the paper about his injury.
“He wants to be out there kicking,” Colleen Stevens said. “With him pulling that top muscle you have to let it heal. It's the leg you have to get lift, to get the ball in the air.
“I don't know if he knows for sure when he hurt it. There's a chance he might have hurt it before the season and tried to fight through it.”
She’s unsure if Jimmy will kick for OU again.
“People ask me if Jimmy's career over,” said Colleen Stevens. “I don't know. I have no clue. I hope it's not over.”
