Sophomore running back Brennan Clay indicated on Twitter today that he will be back home in California this weekend. This would obviously make him unavailable for OU’s final home game of the season against Iowa State on Saturday.
Carey Murdock of SoonerScoop.com is reporting that Clay’s grandmother passed away.
From a football perspective, this development would leave the Sooners with only two scholarship running backs in sophomore Roy Finch and freshman Brandon Williams. Sophomore fullback Trey Millard is also capable of handling more carries if needed.
Update: Clay did indeed play against Iowa State. It appears that he delayed his trip home until after the game.
