Nelson Expected to Stay at Defensive End

Defensive coordinator Brent Venables says sophomore linebacker Corey Nelson is moving to defensive end permanently until junior defensive end Ronnell Lewis is available to play again, The Oklahoman reports.

“Guys that can make that switch are instinctive,” said defensive coordinator Brent Venables. “(Nelson) isn't a guy who needs a lot of reps anywhere. Sometimes you have those kind of guys.”

“He happens to be one of those guys that have the ability to play multiple positions mentally and physically. He's a full-time D-End until we get the Hammer back.”

Lewis suffered an MCL sprain during the Baylor game. He could be available for OU’s bowl game.
