According to Jake Trotter of ESPN’s SoonerNation, OU is “in danger of finishing with the lowest AP ranking of a preseason No. 1 in the history of the poll” if they lose to Iowa in the Insight Bowl.
Even with a victory the Sooners will probably end the year with the “worst final ranking of a preseason No. 1 since 1960.”
Head Coach Bob Stoops admitted on an Insight Bowl teleconference with reporters that the team has a lot to try and fix over the next month.
"We have a lot to get straight, we have a lot to correct," he said. "I don't know if just the bowl practices can get it done, but we're going to try. We'll see."
