Sam Grant Commits to OU

Today, tight end Sam Grant (Saint Edward High School – Ohio) “gave his verbal commitment to the Sooners,” SoonerNation reports.

“For the last month, it has seemed like a two-team race between OU and Michigan, but it appeared the Wolverines had the edge because of the distance factor with how much closer Ann Arbor was compared to Norman from Grant's hometown in Ohio.

“Grant, a three-star prospect at 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, was a long-time Boston College commit before de-committing from the Eagles last weekend.

“He took visits to Michigan and Arkansas in December, followed by an official visit to OU on Jan. 6. The following weekend, Grant made another unofficial visit to Michigan.

“The following two weeks, both the Wolverines and Sooners put on the full court press to land Grant with assistants making in-home visits one week and then OU’s Bob Stoops and Michigan’s Brady Hoke both having in-home visits with Grant last week.”
