OU’s football program “will welcome back a few familiar faces this season,” according to The Oklahoman.
“The Sooners announced Friday via Twitter that former players Joe Jon Finley, Joey Halzle and Derrick Strait, along with former Colorado player Ryan Walters, will join the program as assistant coaches.
“Strait will be a defensive quality control coach, Halzle will be an offensive graduate assistant, Finley will be an offensive quality control coach and Walters will be a defensive graduate assistant. Walters comes to OU from Arizona, where he worked with OU defensive coordinator Mike Stoops and linebackers coach Tim Kish. Walters played at Colorado and was on the 2007 team that upset OU in Boulder, Colo.”
