OU Boasts Top Ten Offensive Backfield in Rivals Rankings

Rivals.com has unveiled the first of many top ten “national unit rankings” to come over the next several days. Today they ranked offensive backfields, which includes quarterbacks and running backs.

OU was ranked the #8 best backfield in the country:

“QB Landry Jones leads what should be an extremely potent offense. There is no established feature back, but chances are good that the Sooners will run the ball productively with a committee approach. Jones, a New Mexico native, was second nationally last season with 4,718 yards and 38 touchdowns. He has thrown for 7,914 yards and 64 scores in his two seasons at OU. Look for sophomores Roy Finch and Brennan Clay and true freshman Brandon Williams to get the bulk of the carries at tailback.”
