Ronnell Lewis’ High School Coach Believes He’ll Play

Josh Been, Ronnell Lewis’ high school football coach in Dewar, Oklahoma, thinks he will play on Saturday against Tulsa, according to the Tulsa World.

"Ronnell was 100 percent confident that he was gonna walk down the tunnel in pads and be in on the first play of the game on Saturday," Been told the Tulsa World on Tuesday night. "I don't mind you quoting me on that because I know that's what he believes."

[…]

"My belief is that he's gonna start on Saturday," Been said, "and they apparently know more than what they want to tell, for whatever reason. I guess I'm satisfied with that."

The issue at hand:

Lewis has not been declared ineligible, but Been said his performance in a class during the spring semester "has just kind of hung over him for a while, for whatever reason," and that has caused strife with the NCAA.
