It begins again! With news yesterday that Texas A&M is officially ready to move on from the Big 12, speculation now centers on what OU will do.
Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman says he expects the Sooners to “seek an invitation to join the Pacific-12 Conference.” Such a move could come “within days, if not hours.”
Further, he anticipates that Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State will join OU as members of a new “Pac-16” conference by October.
“Missouri ends up in the Big Ten or ACC, and Kansas heads to the Big East. If for some inexplicable reason Texas chooses not to pursue Pac-12 membership, look for Texas Tech to be left out and expect the Pac-12 to focus on Kansas and Missouri along with OU and OSU. Don't dawdle, Texas.”
