Freshman linebacker Londell Taylor “was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI complaint last Saturday night, about an hour after the Sooners' victory over Missouri,” the Tulsa World reports.
“According to Norman Police Sgt. Jennifer Newell, the 23-year-old Taylor was involved in an auto accident at the corner of Constitution and Classen, east of the OU campus. Newell said Taylor left the scene before being apprehended.
“According to the arrest report, Taylor admitted to drinking and then struggled with field sobriety tests. Newell said he blew a 0.14 on a breathalyzer test, nearly twice the legal limit.
“In addition to the DUI complaint, Newell said Taylor was cited for leaving the scene of the accident and having no insurance verification.”
He was released after bond was posted. Some background on Taylor:
“Taylor was originally a 2007 OU signee out of Vian. He was also a 13th-round draft pick by the Detroit Tigers, and he initially chose baseball over football. Taylor spent four years in the minor leagues before being released, prompting him to take another shot at football.”
He’s currently a walk-on.
