Senior cornerback Jamell Fleming “has been named the FWAA/Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week for games of the weekend of Oct. 8,” Big12Sports.com reports.
He had “a career-high 13 tackles in Oklahoma's decisive 55-17 victory over rival Texas in Dallas” and also “returned a fumble 56 yards for a touchdown and forced a fumble.”
Fleming will be added to the 2011 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List. Junior safety Javon Harris earned this honor earlier in the year after his performance against Florida State.
