Texas Tech junior running back Eric Stephens “is out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee dislocation in Saturday's game against Texas A&M,” the school announced today.
“Stephens was on pace to become Tech's first 1,000-yard rusher since Kenny Williams did it in 1998. Stephens had racked up 570 yards on 109 carries through five games. He'd also scored eight touchdowns.”
That leaves the Red Raiders, who OU will play in Norman on October 22, with a true freshman, DeAndre Washington, as their next leading rusher. Thus far, Washington has 107 yards on 22 carries and 2 touchdowns.
