Sports Illustrated Ranks Sooners No. 8 in Early Poll

Andy Staples has released a Sports Illustrated “Way-Too-Early 2012 Top 25” poll. OU is ranked No. 8.

“The Sooners bring back quarterback Landry Jones, who will have an entire offseason to adjust to playing without receiver Ryan Broyles. Tailback Dominique Whaley should be back from a broken ankle and will get to run behind an offensive line that should return five starters. Plus, the Sooners now know they can always turn over the reins to Blake (the Belldozer) Bell near the goal line. Meanwhile, linebackers Tony Jefferson and Tom Wort will lead an experienced back seven on defense.”
