A couple of brief notes from Head Coach Bob Stoops’ press conference yesterday:
- Sophomore wide receiver Trey Franks, back with the team after serving a two-week suspension for breaking team rules, will not start against Texas but will likely play. It seems clear from Stoops’ comments to the media on Monday that Franks will be back on kickoff return as well.
- Senior offensive lineman Jarvis Jones is expected to remain in the right tackle rotation this week, but he could also practice some at the guard position. OU could use another experienced player to add depth to the position after junior Ben Habern’s arm injury forced sophomore Gabe Ikard to move over to center. Ikard previously started at left guard. In addition, junior Tyler Evans, who starts at right guard, suffered an ankle sprain during the Ball State game. Evans is still expected to play this week.
