Carey Murdock of SoonerScoop.com reported on The Sports Animal this morning that redshirt freshman defensive back James Haynes, sophomore defensive tackle Josh Aladenoye and freshman running back Brandon Williams will all leave the team and transfer.
He also said it doesn’t look like sophomore tight end Austin Haywood, who left the team earlier in the season, will be back. He had reportedly been trying to rejoin the team.
There are also rumors that freshman tight end Max Stevenson, who redshirted this year, won’t be back on the team after struggling to recover from a torn pectoral muscle. Nothing official on that yet.
If Stevenson and Haywood did not return, OU would be left with only one returning tight end on the roster for next season: freshman John-Philip Hughes, who is a preferred walk-on from Tulsa.
